An Alteryx support resource is responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and guidance to users of the Alteryx platform. This role ensures optimal performance, resolves user issues, and supports the adoption and effective use of Alteryx products across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues raised by Alteryx users, documenting each step for transparency and knowledge sharing
- Respond to customer requests within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and manage customer expectations throughout the support process
- Serve as a liaison between users and internal teams (engineering, product, sales) for issue escalation and resolution
- Perform upgrades, patches, and fixes on Alteryx software; manage incident and problem tickets; participate in on-call rotations as needed
- Support and troubleshoot database connections (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop) and network communication issues
- Provide support through multiple channels, including chat, phone, email, and screen sharing
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles and documentation for internal and external use
- Monitor cloud infrastructure and services related to Alteryx, proactively addressing performance and availability issues
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes and the overall customer experience
- Participate in weekend or after-hours support rotations to maintain service continuity
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related quantitative field)
- 1–3 years of experience in technical or product support, preferably with Alteryx or similar data analytics platforms
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues related to databases, environments, and network communications
- Experience with SQL or similar technologies, understanding of ODBC, APIs, and connection strings
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and server environments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and handle high-pressure situations
- Customer-centric mindset and a passion for problem-solving
Desirable Skills
- Experience with job scheduling and workflow development in Alteryx
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy)
- Knowledge of ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, IBM DataStage), scripting languages (e.g., R, Python, SAS), or advanced analytics techniques
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and enterprise IT environments[^6].
