Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer (Power BI) 

Job Summary: 

 
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Intelligence Developer to join our team for a long-term position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting data solutions, focusing on Power BI dashboards and semantic models. You will work with data sourced from Snowflake, transforming raw data into meaningful insights to support data-driven decision-making 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Dashboard Development: Create interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards to meet business requirements 

  • Data Modeling: Build, maintain, and optimize semantic data models, ensuring efficient and accurate data representation 

  • DAX Knowledge: Write and troubleshoot complex Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) to support reporting needs 

  • Data Source Management: Connect, query, and transform data from Snowflake for use in Power BI reports 

  • Data Refresh Management: Monitor and troubleshoot data refresh schedules to ensure timely updates of dashboards and reports 

  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications 

  • Documentation: Document technical implementations, processes, and best practices for future reference 

  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues, including debugging and identifying bugs, while collaborating with the data engineering team to ensure resolution 

  • Performance Optimization: Ensure high performance and scalability of reports, data models, and Snowflake queries 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Power BI Expertise: At least 3 years of proven experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reports 

  • DAX Knowledge: Strong understanding of Data Analysis Expressions for creating measures, calculated columns, and complex business logic 

  • Snowflake Experience: Hands-on experience in connecting, querying, and managing data from Snowflake 

  • Data Modeling: Proven experience in data modeling, including dimensional models, star schemas, and best practices 

  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with analysis services, debug problems, identify bugs, and work with the data engineering team to drive resolutions 

  • Requirement Analysis: Experience gathering business requirements and analyzing them to define technical solutions 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to collaborate with stakeholders and document technical implementations 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Power Query Knowledge: Familiarity with Power Query for data transformation and preparation 

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure Data Services. 

  • Knowledge of ETL processes and tools 

  • Knowledge of Snowflake architecture, query optimization, and best practices 

  • Strong understanding of best practices in data visualization and governance 

  • Knowledge of SQL queries
